Lenovo IdeaTab Miix2 8-Inch 32 GB Tablet- Review

Get ready for a swanky new 8-inch tablet with Windows 8.1 software and an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, a most affordable Windows tablet in the market today. Though Dell venue 8 pro is making waves, still Lenova Miix2 edges out Dell in various ways, thereby scoring maximum best reviews from users.

Both have solid 1280 x 800 IPS displays, 32/64 GB variants, microSD expansion, micro USB port, 2GB RAM and 1.8 GHz  Quad- core atom processor along with integrated Intel HD graphics. Miix2 sports 8 MP rear camera versus 5 MP for Dell; and 2 MP front camera versus 1.2 MP for dell; Most crucial feature which Miix2 possess- unique Veriface Face Recognition software, so that even you can login with your mug! Miix2 weighs 0.77lb, while Dell 0.87lb. Of course Dell comes in matte black and Lenovo is a silver -metal.

Miix2 tablet is most distinctive perhaps for its extremely minimalist design, offering a look that is one of the cleanest we've seen in terms of form meeting function.

This tablet also has an optional stylus and detachable cover that comes in multiple colors (black, pink and blue) and does double duty as a stand for viewing the screen at an angle. Its Intel processor supports Miix2 to even run older apps made for windows XP or 7.

Idea Miix2 comes with Pre-installed Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition, making it perfect for light productive tasks and Web browsing. It's compact size, light weight and latest Windows operating system with Microsoft Office makes it the best choice for students and frequent travelers. Thus IdeaTab Miix2 has a good chance to compete with top Android tablets and iPad mini.

Various other specs of Miix2 consist of GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and up to 128 GB of eMMC onboard storage. Though the battery life (7 hrs, but 10 hrs. as claimed by the company) is a tad shy of expectations, it's somewhat understandable considering the quad-core processing prowess on display.

Still the Mixx2 appears like a suitable offering if you want full fat Windows 8.1 tucked in a slim pan for a not unreasonable price. Many users want the convenience of a smaller screen tablet, but do not want to lose the performance and convenience of a powerful, quad-core Windows 8.1 device. With the Lenovo Miix2, users can take advantage of a small, light form factor, without sacrificing performance. It's a great example of how thoughtful design can deliver the best of both worlds.
